J&K govt to beautify Shia religious places

Srinagar, Dec 1-As part of efforts to beautifyShia religious places and promote religious tourism, Jammu andKashmir government is acquiring land in and around the ZadibalImambara in interior city."Acquisition of land should be speeded up in Zadibalso that execution of the beautification of Imambara is takenup at the earliest," Jammu and Kashmir Tourism MinisterMohammad Dilawar Mir said chairing a meeting of officialshere.Mir said an amount of Rs.62 lakh will be spent by thetourism department for construction and beautification ofZiarat Sharief Mir Shamasuddn Iraqi in Zadibal whereas about30 structures are required to be dismantled around ImambaraZadibal for beautification of the area.Government has planned beautification project of theImambara as part of its campaign to promote religious tourismin the state. The beautificaton includes setting up arecreation park and widening the road in Zadibal area of theold city.
