Pak court gives death to 2 Sunni militants for killing Shiites

Karachi, Oct 31- A Pakistani court sentenced twoSunni Muslim militants to death today for killing six Shiitesin a 2003 gun attack on a bus in the southern city of Karachi,lawyers said.The men, who pleaded not guilty, were arrested in 2004in connection with the Oct 3, 2003, bus shooting that killedsix Shiite government employees and wounded seven otherpeople.Anti-terrorism court judge Feroz Mahmood Bhatticonvicted Shah Nawaz, 32, and Mohammed Shaukat, 35, for theirrole in the killing and sentenced them to death, said GhulamGadir Rajput, a government prosecutor.Defence lawyer Mohammed Ramazan Syed said the pair, whowere both in court wearing handcuffs, plan to appeal theverdict. No date for the death sentence was set.
